According to Road and Track, Musk fired the entire Supercharger group team, including director Rebecca Tinucci, a total of roughly 500 people. The information was confirmed by several insiders. It’s probably clear that it’s about savings, but we don’t know why Musk fired the entire team and de facto offered competition to dozens of top experts with invaluable knowledge. There are also concerns about maintaining the continuity of development of Superchargers, which have built a reputation for a solid, reliable and well-deployed charging network. Especially now that the network is opening up to third-party customers and most automakers operating in North America are switching to the NACS charging standard, developed and supported by Tesla.
