The range of Renault SUV models is very varied today, yet the French found a niche to fit one more novelty. Even the new Symbioz is actually a raised SUV, but with an extended backpack in the back like a station wagon and an interior like a family MPV. Czech families listen to that!
The Symbiosis is just over 4.4 meters long and falls between the Captur and the Austral. The design develops the current style of Renault, the nose is decorated with unmistakable light elements in the bumper, but the rest of the car is rather elegantly smooth and underlined by the unconventional design of up to nineteen-inch alloy wheels.
The benefit of a family car should primarily be practicality. Symbiosis attracts with a standard luggage compartment volume of 492 liters. However, you can move the rear bench up to 16 centimeters, which increases the trunk to an amazing 624 liters. And when you fold the seats completely, you get a flat loading area and 1,582 liters of space.

The driver’s workplace is based on other modern Renaults, but boasts countless storage spaces. Only the compartment in front of the passenger can hold seven liters, the crew has almost twenty-five liters available in total.
The novelty is also tempting for the cat equipment. The SUV station wagon can get electric control of the fifth door, a glass roof without blinds, which is replaced by the obscuring function, a central 10.4″ screen of the multimedia system with Google services, Harman Kardon premium audio, ambient interior lighting or updates over the air without the need to visit the service center.
There is also an army of safety and assistance systems including sign recognition, automatic emergency braking when reversing or level two autonomous driving. A huge benefit of Renault is a separate button on the left side of the steering wheel, which you only need to press twice and you can easily deactivate the less annoying assistants.

The Symbiosis is available with a single engine, namely a full hybrid, which combines a petrol sixteen-cylinder with two electric motors and together they deliver 145 horsepower. Renault says the car can run up to 80% of the time in the city on electricity alone and save up to 40% on fuel compared to a conventional combustion engine. In the combined cycle, the new product promises consumption of 4.6 l/100 km. Although it is a hybrid, the curb weight of the car is under 1.5 tons.
Renault’s hot new product is produced in the modernized Valladolid plant, the Symbiosis should appear on Czech roads this year. Prices remain a secret for now. However, we know that domestic customers will choose from four trim levels – Evolution, Techno, Iconic and Esprit Alpine.
