• Meta has launched a bonus program for some creators on the Threads network
• Some can earn up to $5,000, which translates to over CZK 116,000
• But so far only in the United States

Social network Threads, Meta’s answer to Musk’s X, recently crossed the 150 million monthly user mark. However, this does not mean that she intends to rest on her laurels. On the contrary, in order to increase the popularity of this new network even more, it decided to launch a time-limited bonus program for it.

This is intended only for selected creators, who then receive monetary rewards based on the number of views and frequency of “posting” of their posts. Currently, the program is limited to creators in the US, but the company said it may expand the program to other regions if successful.

Bonus conditions

There is also specific guidance on what kind of contributions are eligible for the bonus program. For example, one of the requirements states that a post must receive at least 2,500 views. In addition, the contribution that would like to strive for a bonus must not contain any copyrighted material, nor must it be promoted in any way.

In addition, it should not contain the watermark of any other platform, such as TikTok or YouTube. Also, it must not be a collaboration with another brand, which is quite often the case with successful influencers. On the contrary, it must contain some text.

A minimum amount will need to be reached for payout

Creators can check their earnings on a special panel and may be required to earn a minimum amount to be paid.

“In some cases, you have to earn a minimum amount to receive the bonus payment. If you do not reach this minimum amount, you will not receive any reward, but you may be invited to participate in other bonus opportunities in the future.” explains the company.

What does Meta mean by this?

The question remains whether Meta is just trying to attract successful creators to its new platform, or if there is something more behind the campaign. For example, it could motivate influencers to not overwhelm us with various promotions and focus more on creative content.

Or it might want to use such successful content to train its AI, for which it needs some accompanying text, and instead ban copyrighted content, thereby protecting itself from potential lawsuits.
