Uber released a list of the most frequently forgotten things in its cars. More interesting, however, is the overview of the oddities. For example, a hair piece, a turtle or a ceramic cat

--

This is the eighth time that the alternative taxi service Uber has compiled a list of the most bizarre things that people in the cars providing the transportation service under the company’s banner forgot last year. But first, let’s look at the most often forgotten things.

Clothing remains the classic among forgotten things and number one among all items, followed by handbags, backpacks and other luggage. Jewellery, watches and cosmetics are in third place, while electronics and wallets are on the next rungs. However, electronic cigarettes and similar products are also newly appearing in the statistics.

The data from Uber also includes unlucky days, because on Fridays in 2023 passengers most often forgot their mobile phones in taxis, electronic cigarettes on Saturdays and clothes on Sundays. The most exposed times then remained between nine and ten in the evening.

The worst day for forgetful Czechs was June 10 last year, when the largest number of items were lost in cars driven by Uber.

However, the record holders in the number of lost and found are residents and visitors of Latin America, namely people traveling in Mexico City and in eight other cities in Brazil. The top 10 then closes the North American Los Angeles. As for European cities, travelers in Paris, Madrid and Lisbon are at the top in forgetfulness, while the cities of Prague, Málaga, Krakow and Vienna are at the bottom of the list.

In addition to ordinary things, people in taxis also forget somewhat more bizarre items.

But what about the weird ones? Several pets, such as spiders or turtles, appeared among the most interesting finds this year as well. Also lots of false teeth and braces, meditation crystals and interesting memorabilia such as a framed signature of Taylor Swift, a poster of Hillary Clinton or a championship belt of a wrestling organization.

That’s not all, take a look at the selection of the Top 20 most bizarre forgotten things as described by the users themselves:

  1. Hairpiece from frontal hair
  2. Hot sauce and alcohol tester
  3. A very important leaf from the tree
  4. Two containers with spiders
  5. Beyoncé folding fan
  6. Meat pie tray
  7. Ceramic cat
  8. Glass with oysters

The breakdown by specific categories is also interesting. For example, would you have thought that the competition for the most forgotten car keys would be won by a wide margin by the Mini? Musical instruments were then dominated by the guitar, fashion accessories and jewelry were again dominated by motifs with Jesus, and in the area of food, it was mostly uneaten pizza.

Drivers not only use Mini Uber, but also forget their keys most often in cars driven by this company.

According to North American statistics, Android won by about three thousand units among the communication devices in the fight between products using the Apple and Android operating systems.

Finally, Uber adds that even in the event of valuable losses, their owners need not despair, as the probability of recovery is said to be high. The lost thing can be reported through the application and contacted directly with the driver of the car in question. Then it’s just a matter of agreeing with him when and how you will meet…
