The trains are scheduled to run until October 5.

The Slovakian Railway Company (ZSSK) in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Railways ÖBB started the operation of the regular seasonal line Bratislava – Vienna – Split this week. It will be in operation three times a week until October 5.

After the cancellation of the RegioJet direct train from Prague to the Adriatic, for passengers from the Czech Republic, this is the closest train for direct trips to Croatia.

According to ZSSK, the first train was almost sold out: 173 people traveled, which is 96% of capacity. 26 people traveled from Bratislava. This year, compared to other years, it is not possible to transport cars from Bratislava, but only from Vienna.

This is already the fourth season of direct trains for ZSSK. “Slovaks love Croatia and we can see that in the numbers. We currently have over 11,000 tickets sold,” said Peter Helexa, CEO of ZSSK. Last year, 19,000 people used this connection option.

The night train departs from the Bratislava-Nové Mesto station on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 3:26 p.m. due to the lockout and goes via Petržalka to Vienna. Departs Split at 17:29. Driving time is 16 hours.
