Bentley Batur Convertible officially: Farewell to the W12 on top without 16 pieces

--

Bentley presents an open version of the exclusive Batur model. The novelty is another wave of farewell to the iconic six-liter W12 engine.

The British luxury brand Bentley is saying goodbye to the traditional W12 and has already stated in the past that the last production model with the prestigious high-volume engine will be the exclusive Batur. It was first presented as a coupe in 2022, and the automaker subsequently started production of a limited series for its most loyal and demanding clients. And now he is saying goodbye to the six-liter twelve-cylinder with unlimited sky above his head.

The novelty is officially called the Bentley Batur Convertible and it arrives in the world just shortly before the definitive end of production of the W12 engine. Even in the cabriolet, the six-liter unit with two turbochargers is characterized by a maximum output of 544 kW (740 hp) and a massive torque of 1,000 newton meters. The final evolution for Batur is the brand’s most powerful W12 ever and is 60 kW and 100 Nm more powerful than the heart of the Continental GT Speed.

The 12-cylinder W-concept has been in production for more than twenty years and has grown by just under 40 percent during successive upgrades, while fuel consumption has dropped by a quarter. The latest information says that the production of the twelve-cylinder will end this summer. As standard, the Bentley Batur Convertible has an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a unique titanium Akrapovič exhaust with huge tailpipes made using 3D printing.

The luxury convertible Batur is presented in the official photos with the roof down, which is made of fabric and folds into a box behind the cabin. The roof with electric control needs only 19 seconds for a complete movement and can be unfolded or folded even while driving at speeds of up to 30 kilometers per hour. Thanks to this, in the Baturu Convertible, millionaires can enjoy endless space above their heads, that is, if they just pull down the roof.

Bentley says the prototype unveiled is in line with future production cars, which will be fewer than the original coupe. While eighteen baturs with a fixed roof were created, only sixteen cabriolets were produced. And how much does such a toy cost? Although Bentley does not state the official price, the novelty is said to be more expensive than the original coupe, which was sold with a base price of 48 million crowns. And by the way, the entire production is definitely sold out.
