Today, finding someone to trim your trees or remove tree stumps is almost as impossible as finding a free and good plumber, chimney sweep, boilermaker or bricklayer. In short, there are never enough golden Czech hands. If you are troubled by, for example, the stump mentioned above that you would like to get rid of, you do not need to expect or pay an expert, you have several options to dispose of it yourself.
Make a campfire
Some tree stumps are particularly stubborn, such as a walnut tree. Before you dig it out, you’ll be sweating profusely. So just don’t dig him. Let it dry for a few months and then light it. Before that, cut it a few times from the top with a chainsaw, drill holes in it, fill it with lighter and light it. You will have a beautiful campfire on which you can easily roast burritos.
Compost
If you cut the stump a little with a motor and chop it a few times with an axe, you have it ready for composting. Take the compost and cover the stump with it, tucking it properly into each crevice. Now all you have to do is wait and wait for the stump to rot. You will speed up the decomposition process by keeping the stump moist and adding nitrogen fertilizer or potassium nitrate granules designed specifically for stump removal.
Decorate
In some cases, a tree stump can have a very aesthetic effect in the garden. If you modify it a little (sand it, level it), you can use it as a table or a stand for flowers. When you dig it out, you are offered to plant flowers directly in it. Try to think if your tree stump could continue to beautify the garden.
Grow mushrooms
If you can’t get rid of the tree stump, you can at least put it to practical use. Wood decaying fungi thrive well on walnut trees and other fruit and leafy trees, such as boletus, Judas’s ear, boletus or shiitake. You will have mushrooms and the stump will slowly but surely decay.
