Rolls-Royce showed the facelift of the Cullinan SUV

--

Since its introduction in 2018, the Cullinan has quickly become the brand’s best-selling model. And it’s time for a facelift. Although the designers of the Rolls-Royce brand managed to impress the original Cullinan with an elegant coat despite the proportions of an SUV, somewhat controversial details are visible after the modernization.

We are talking, for example, about the prominent slats in the lower part of the front bumper or about the huge exhaust tips. That is to say, elements that previously cars of this brand did not show off so much. There is, of course, a dark and more dynamic version of the Black Badge, but it differs fundamentally visually only in the dark details of the body.

Also new are the boomerang-shaped headlights. The wheels can now be up to 23 inches and have a new design that takes inspiration from the brand’s newer cars, such as the upgraded Phantom limousine or the Spectre electric car.

The most significant change inside is a glass panel across the entire width of the dashboard. Customers can tailor the design of not only this part of the interior. The driver’s instrument panel is newly digital and based on the Spectre.

Connectivity has been significantly improved. Up to two streaming devices can now be connected to the rear screens. The internet connection allows users to use a wifi hotspot and independently stream content to each screen separately.

In addition to leather, Rolls-Royce is also focusing on the development of luxury fabrics in the interior. For example, a complete interior with Duality Twill fabric can contain up to 2.2 million stitches, a thread length of 17.7 km and takes 20 hours to create. To ensure the uniformity of the pattern, each piece is individually made before cutting using a specially developed laser that seals the edge of the material and prevents individual threads from coming loose.

The 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder with a capacity of 571 hp, respectively 600 hp in the Black Badge version, continues to serve as a drive, whose 850 to 900 Nm is traditionally freely available from low revs.
