The SUV sold in Germany is larger than the VW Tiguan and costs 475,000. Who is he?

A new Chinese SUV with an attractive price tag starting below 500,000 crowns has gone on sale in Germany. It is bigger than the new Volkswagen Tiguan, and even has up to seven seats.

The invasion of cheap Chinese cars into Europe continues and can bring really interesting offers for people for whom low price always wins over quality. The new Chinese SUV from the Brilliance Shineray car manufacturer has started to be sold in our German neighbors. You’ve probably never heard of him, but among strong European competition, he comes with a lot of music for really little money. With prices starting at under twenty thousand euros, it offers up to seven seats.

It is officially called the SMW G03F and has been sold in China since 2022 with the slightly more imaginative name Tiger. Even at first glance, the not very attractive SUV is 4.61 meters long, 1.82 meters wide and 1.83 meters high, while it has a wheelbase of 2.78 meters. If you have no dimensional imagination, it is slightly longer than the latest Volkswagen Tiguan and has a longer wheelbase, but it is significantly cheaper.

The standard model imported to Europe is an atmospheric gasoline four-cylinder with a displacement of 1.5 liters and a maximum output of 82 kW (110 hp). The German importer adds that it is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. And it even lists the homologated fuel consumption, which should be 7.23 liters per 100 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.

In the Chinese seven-seater SUV, you can sit in three rows – the second row has two separate seats and there is a three-seater bench at the very back. However, rear seat comfort for individual passengers is a question. The equipment includes air conditioning, an instrument panel with a 3.5″ display, a 7″ infotainment touchscreen, charging USB ports or keyless unlocking.

However, the biggest attraction of the SWM G03F is undoubtedly its low price, as it is said to be sold in Germany with a base price of less than 500,000 CZK. On the popular German advertising server mobile.de, the cheapest piece is sold for approximately 475,000 crowns including tax. Would it convince you to buy, or would you rather stay with proven European competitors with a certain service background?
