It will be possible to tune the station in terrestrial DVB-T2 broadcasting in Multiplex 24 and will be part of the offer of some operators. Negotiations are still ongoing to make it part of the offer of satellite operators.
“We want our TV to be fun and comfortable in the best sense of the word. That is the reason why I accepted the challenge to become its leader. The sight of a positive medium in a sea of negative news simply appealed to me,” explained Jan Hloch, director of the new television station, who has had a rich career in many Czech television and radio stations. He mainly focused on reporting from the world of sports.
“I will be satisfied if we get enough viewers to be viable in the long term and to be able to develop. Within the team, there was a desire to have a two percent share of the television market in the medium term. It is undoubtedly very ambitious. Personally, I am cautious and humble about such predictions because I know how many different factors can affect the overall outcome. But it is true that there is no point in setting small goals,” added Hloch.
The project is backed by OK Music Television, which acquired the terrestrial license in January. It is valid for twelve years. The headquarters of the station is in Hartigova Street in Prague, Žižkov, from where it will broadcast from four studios that were invented and designed by stage designer Martin Hruška.
OK TV will offer Czech and Slovak music production and entertainment. It targets viewers over the age of 35 who are looking for humor, comfort and kindness. The OK Star morning show will be hosted by Radka Pavlovčinová, Dominik Port, Bára Mottlová, Vojtěch Sklenář, Veronika Lálová and Tomáš Löbl. Betty and Vojtěch Urban’s cooking show, Petr Šiška will present the One on One knowledge competition.
René Kekely took on the program Co Cech, to professor, in which questions will be answered by people from the street, Martin Hrdinka will select songs for the program Kartotéka, Radka Pavlovčinová will accompany the television Hitparadá and Pavel Anděl Angel’s Night.
Šárka Vaňková will introduce the world of arenas and variety shows in the program Hvězdy máneže, entertainer Miloš Knor will host her talk show, Eva Decastello and Bára Mottlová will show Girls on the move, Alice Bendová and her sister Andrea will cook with their guests on TV, and Lešek and Magdaléna Wronka will prepare children’s program Teta Květa. The personalities of the station will also be Aleš Cibulka, Genny Ciatti and others.
“We think we are unique because we create our own content and also because we were able to build our studios in less than six months,” added business and programming TV Artur Kaiser.
The television is not preparing any news programs yet.
