In Prague 13, they once again appreciated their teachers. The awards, which were proposed by the school principals, were ceremonially received from the hands of the district administration. This year, a total of forty-two pedagogues from primary and kindergarten schools, including the Stodůlky Home for Children and Youth, received the awards. Mayor David Vodrážka congratulated them.

“I’m glad that more or less the number of awardees is increasing, because the principals probably know very well that the pedagogues and teachers deserve it, and it’s an honor for me to meet them here and tell them that we value their work and that the town hall is here also from the fact that if there is a problem, they can always turn to us with confidence,” said David Vodrážka (ODS), mayor of Prague 13.

According to the mayor, Prague 13 has been monitoring the demographic curve for a long time. So far, it is not a problem to place all the children in kindergartens and primary schools, although sometimes it is not possible depending on which school the parents choose. Třináctka continues to expand its capacities this year as well.

“This year we will add 6 more classes to one elementary school, we will repair and revitalize a new kindergarten, which we want to be designed for handicapped children, because we have a number of disabled young children and parents also need to rest. We are intensively preparing the construction of a kindergarten schools in the Western Town near the Stodůlky metro station, and at the same time the new primary school, also in the Western Town, is being painted. So we don’t want to fall asleep,” said David Vodrážka (ODS), mayor of the Prague 13 municipality.

According to deputy mayor Marcela Plesníková, almost all teachers deserve the award. The profession is constantly undergoing changes and makes ever greater demands on teachers.

“The teaching profession is not an easy task, because they face a number of challenges, whether they are the students themselves, the ever-increasing administration and, we can say, the ever-changing education system. It’s not just about handing them some awards today, it’s also about how the district takes care of its schools, whether it develops capacities, takes care of some above-standard equipment, but above all, it also takes care of the satisfaction of both pupils and teachers,” said Marcela Plesníková (ANO), deputy mayor of the Prague 13 municipality.

They have a schedule of renovations, additions and expansion of capacity at Třináctec until 2030. The Prague 13 district is the founder of ten elementary schools and twenty-two kindergartens.
