It was held on Wednesday, March 27, in the Velké studio at Horní náměstí 21, with the participation of numerous personalities from social, cultural and political life.
The christening itself was preceded by a musical performance and remembrances of former and current employees of the Olomouc radio station. Natálie Tichánková and Boys, frontman of the band Mňága and Žďorp, Petr Fiala and Ondřej Fencl, played and sang.
“It was a nice and pleasant evening. We reminisced and I think that those memories appealed to us pleasantly,” Pavel Hekela, former director of Olomouc radio, evaluated the festive evening.

“I feel it was a very enjoyable evening. It is a pity that due to the capacity we are not able to offer it to a larger audience and thus also to the listeners of Czech Radio Olomouc, who certainly deserve it. The mood was beautiful. The kind like at graduation parties. Slightly nostalgic, yet with a certain potential for the future,” commented Josef Podstata, the current director of Czech Radio Olomouc, who picked up the bass guitar at the end of the evening and thus joined the musical performance of the evening.
More annual events are planned
The celebrations of two significant anniversaries do not end this evening. “We are planning other events for the public and for current and former employees. But for now, these are plans, we’ll see how the implementation will be. It depends, among other things, on the financial situation, which is closely connected with the current debate on the amount of radio fees,” reminded Podstata.
Editor Aleš Spurný recorded the best of the entire evening for you in a report. You can listen to it in the audio attached above.
