The D35 highway near Olomouc will be closed by the demolition of the bridge

“We would like to draw your attention to the weekend complete closure of the D35 highway near Křelov – km 253-261,” announced the regional spokesman of the Roads and Highways Directorate (ŘSD) Miroslav Mazal.

Due to the demolition of the old bridge, the highway will be closed from Saturday, April 6, 7:00 a.m. to Sunday, April 7, 1:00 p.m.

“All traffic will take a marked detour along the parallel road II/635 through Unčovice, Náklo and Příkazy,” the spokesman pointed out.

The company is gradually dismantling the old bridge. The overpass leads to Polňačka and will not be restored.

Closed road Křelov – Topolany

The construction of the missing part of the western bypass of Olomouc brought the first restrictions in traffic already at the end of March, when the III/5709 road, which is crossed by the route of the freeway being built, was completely closed near the gardening colony on the outskirts of Křelov. Motorists heading to Topolany and further on to Hněvotín or Těšetice use the frequent link. A year will not pass.

“The complete closure of road III/5709 leading between the D35 highway and Hněvotín via Topolany applies from March 23 to April 30, 2025,” informed Miroslav Mazal.

This Topolanská Street is replaced by a two-way bypass route via Pražská Street and Míru Street in Olomouc.

ŘSD started the construction of the 3.2 kilometer long highway section at the end of February. It should be ridden in 26 months.

The route of the D35 highway between Křelov and Slavonín is a very important section, according to the general director of ŘSD Radek Mátl. With the commissioning of the second stage, the western bypass will be completed, which, according to the ŘSD, will be able to withstand high intensities not only of transit traffic.

“Over 18,000 cars a day are signing up for the creation of queues at the roundabout near Globus – we will replace the temporary solution with a modern highway in a straight direction within two years. The original road I/35, together with the level crossing at Křelov, will be reassigned to the category of lower class roads,” said Radek Mátl.

For the construction called “D35 3508.2 Křelov – Slavonín 2nd stage”, the ŘSD signed a contract with the association EUROVIA CS and M – SILNICE, which offered a price of 838 million crowns without VAT in the competition. The expected value of the contract was 1.150 billion, excluding VAT.
