This had changes to the Labor Code, such as changes in notice and probationary periods, on the agenda. The National Economic Council of the Government (NERV) advocated the termination without notification of pension in the upcoming amendment to the Labor Code, but Labor Minister Marian Jurečka (KDU-ČSL) refused to include it there. However, at least part of the coalition ODS wants her there.

“Jurečka insisted on his position at the meeting,” Josef Středula, chairman of the Czech-Moravian Confederation of Trade Unions, told Novinkám. However, the unions are against this measure because, according to them, it will harm the employees.

ODS wants to negotiate with ANO. He wants to enforce the termination without giving a reason at all costs

On the contrary, the Union of Industry and Transport supports the change. “As a person from practice, I say that I can imagine it under certain circumstances. If we tell ourselves in advance what conditions it will be under, it would simplify the journey and reduce the level of stress for many people,” its president Jan Rafaj told Czech Television.

If the measure were to be implemented, he would have, for example, a significantly higher severance pay. Six months or eight months were considered.

In the area of the Labor Code, the tripartite presidency also discussed other changes. For example, on the automatic increase of the minimum wage or the abolition of guaranteed wage levels in the private sector. They set minimum earnings in individual professions. The trade unions want to complain about this to the European Commission.

NERV proposed 37 measures to support the economy. He recommends, for example, education reform, investment in science and research, ensuring the availability of kindergartens for higher employment of parents, unification of small municipalities, controlled recruitment of workers from abroad, introduction of a regulated cannabis market or modernization of the labor code. The chairman of the Association of Independent Trade Unions (ASO) Bohumír Dufek told journalists that there could be about ten selected steps.

The Minister of Industry and Trade Jozef Síkela (STAN) wants to publish the new economic strategy in the autumn at the engineering fair in Brno.
