In November 2022, the drunkards’ drinking spree in the uniform cell in Sviadnov in Frýdecko-Místek degenerated into a crazed murder. “Dušan was drunk, provoking, cursing. He had papers on his head and the booze made it worse. I sent him away, but he came back. I ran out of fists, then I went to get the hunting knife…,” the defendant Karel M. described the beginning of the horror.
He then mercilessly inflicted three wounds on the victim with a knife with an almost 30 cm long blade. “The cause of death was a punctured lung and pulmonary artery,” said prosecutor Vít Legerský.
“I killed him, help me clean him up” he then told his friend Josef (42). He didn’t say “no” to the raging man. “So that he doesn’t sting me too,” explained the second defendant.
A grave in a pit
The two men loaded the body onto a construction wheelbarrow and drove it to the waste pit. They threw him into it and closed the lid. Then they went back to drinking and watching TV. “When we threw him there, it was pitch black. During the day we went there to see. The body was below the surface, but the legs were limping,” described by Josef M.

He didn’t keep the horror to himself and the police found out about everything through another person. The dead man was found in the sink only two months after the murder.
I didn’t want to help him
Karel M.’s callousness is evidenced by his answer to the question in the preliminary proceedings as to why he did not help the wounded man. “I didn’t want to help the jerk. It was your fault and it was too late anyway.” he replied.
Both men refused to testify in court, but pleaded guilty. Recidivist Karl M. was threatened with an exceptional punishment. He did not fall, the verdict of 20 years unconditionally, but due to his age, he may be behind bars for life. “Helper” Josef M. drafted the condition. The judgment is final.
He also has a girlfriend to blame
Karl M.’s criminal history made it difficult. In 1984, he murdered his girlfriend and tried to kill another man. He was then 14 years old.
The heartless sociopath allegedly bragged about his girlfriend’s murder to his friends and never showed credible remorse for her. He even assaulted a member of the prison service in prison. He has a total of 15 convictions, including violent acts.
They wanted to hang the victim in the army!?
The sister of the murdered man was going through painful moments in court. “We were five siblings. I was closest to Dušan. We still met. Then came the horror in the army. They wanted to hang him there as part of the bullying. He broke down and this started his mental problems, which he solved with alcohol“, she described.
“We wanted to help him, find work, treatment, housing. He refused that we should not take away his way of life. Still, we continued to talk whenever possible. He always called on my birthday in December, but not a year and a half ago. It was weird. The search did not take place because he lived as a homeless person,” the woman cried.
Karel M. (left) received 20 years in prison for callous murder. He had previously served 14 years for the murder of his girlfriend. Josef M. helped him remove the body, he was given a conditional discharge.
