On April 23 and 24, two events of the Czech-Bavarian smart region took place in the Bavarian Upper Franconia near the Czech border. Thematically, the meeting was changed to the use of smart technology in the fields of energy and mobility. et and bavort representatives of ministries, municipal services, universities and companies could see interesting projects and find new contacts and incentives for cooperation. For Czech companies, the event was an opportunity to introduce themselves to the Bavarian market.

The meeting was arranged by General Konsult R in Munich with the CzechTrade agency and Bavarian partners Bayern Innovativ, Es geht! Energiesysteme and Zentrum fr Digitale Entwicklung with the financial support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Lithuania as part of the Economic Diplomacy Project (PROPED) program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.

On April 23, residents visited the energy park in the town of Wunsiedel. In this area, thermal and electrical energy is produced using renewable sources – solar panels, wood and biomass. According to the energy park, it operates the largest electrolyzer for the production of green vodka in Bavaria. The tour of the energy park was followed by presentations about the creation and implementation of this project, about the overall future use of renewable resources in Bavaria, and the current Czech-Bavarian research projects in energy were introduced. participants had the opportunity to get to know each other through organized matchmaking and get new ideas for cooperation. Greetings were given by Wunsiedel im Fichtelgebirge district councilor Peter Berek and Wunsiedel mayor Nicolas Lahovnik.

The second day of the meeting was dedicated to mobility. At the Vysok kola Coburg campus in the city of Kronach, the students viewed research projects in the field of study Autonomous Driving. They expanded the test field for autonomous vehicles and had the opportunity to ride an autonomous shuttle bus of the city’s public transport as part of the Shuttle Modellregion Oberfranken project. The event was enacted in the city of Hof, where the activities and projects of the district of Hof using smart technologies in mobility were presented.
