Cell number 232. Out of fear of the brutal pair, fellow prisoners in Bory cut their veins

--

Both thugs received conditional sentences for extortion and bodily harm. According to court spokeswoman Lucie Ženíšková, Procházka will extend her current stay behind bars by another 5 years, Korčík by 3.5 years. “The decision is not final,” pointed out Ženíšková.

According to the public prosecutor, the fellow prisoners had to endure, for example, urinating in their food, beatings with sticks, being strangled to unconsciousness, or tattoos of profanity on their bodies. Some were so desperate that they cut their veins just to get away.

“They took advantage of their robust bodies and bullied weaker fellow prisoners, both by humiliating them and by physically assaulting them, causing them excruciating suffering,” the indictment states.

With his 205 centimeters and 110 kilograms, Procházek in particular caused fear, who had the main say, and everyone preferred to avoid him. They mainly tried to hide from him when he was allegedly drugged. “He took the handle off the broom and beat me on the back, arms and legs for about an hour until I was purple. He broadcast the whole beating live via video call on his mobile phone to a friend. Then he laughed about it. When I asked him why he was doing it, he said he liked how I screamed,” testified one of the prisoners.

He was so afraid of the accused that he was afraid to report it. “I thought about suicide. It was unbearable. There was no escape from the common cell,” he added.

Another prisoner described how Procházka forced him to kneel on the toilet for hours, when he first poured cold water on him and then tattooed on his back a picture of male and female nature with relevant vulgar inscriptions.

“He tattooed a swastika on the back of another’s hand, or put him next to a cat and smashed apples, oranges and grapefruits against his head from the subway. Then he tied him naked to a chair in the middle of the cell and urinated on him,” said another witness.

Another prisoner described how he had to kneel on the ceiling of the toilet cubicle and howl like a wolf continuously for fifteen minutes. “Or he knocked me down and hit me on the forehead with a metal spoon until I threw up and had lumps everywhere,” the inmate claimed.

Only one found the courage

The file also shows that, for example, when serving food, the two accused piled up food for others and urinated on it.

“They hurt almost all of us. No one stood up to them. Most dealt with this by cutting their veins to relocate them. Finally, one of the convicts found the courage to report it. Then others joined him,” another witness told investigators.

Forensic experts said that the accused always targeted the same places during the physical attack. “The injured suffered much more pain. It can even be considered excruciating hardship,” they stated in the report. The lawsuit does not mention how the guards reacted to the visible injuries of the convicts. But it is possible that the prisoners claimed to them that it was the result of a slip and the like.

The Director of the Bor prison, Drahoslav Červinka, told Novinek that no wrongdoing was detected on the part of the guards. “The police started investigating the case based on our findings,” added Červinka.
