“Criminal investigators came to the conclusion that on September 27 last year, the accused man tried to lure another man, the partner of his ex-girlfriend, to Hradec Forest Cemetery in several ways, whom he also intended to kill,” said police spokeswoman Iva Kormošová.
The police started prosecuting the man after he lured the witness of his criminal activities to a dead end of the Elbe in the night hours last year on Saturday, September 30, under the pretext of financial compensation. With a gun in hand, he forced a 22-year-old acquaintance to strip naked and then cut and stabbed him in several places.
“Fortunately, the injured man managed to escape and call for help. Bystanders gave him first aid and called the emergency services, possibly saving his life. The police arrested the suspect at his residence an hour later,” the police said at the time.

The subsequent investigation revealed that the same perpetrator had apparently set fire to a family home in the Plotiště nad Labem part of Králové Hradec a week earlier. At the same time, he knew that there was at least one person and a dog in it. After the fire was extinguished, a 72-year-old man was found dead in the house.
The prosecuted young man has already been convicted three times, for violent criminal activity and moral offences. He left the prison gates after the last conviction in February 2022 with a four-year probation.
The man is currently in custody. He faces a prison sentence of 15 to 20 years or an exceptional sentence. The amount of the threatened sentence was not changed by the extension of the charges.
