Omar’s half-hour appearance on the evening news from 10pm local time sparked a wave of criticism from viewers on social network X, as well as concerns about his health.

According to the Daily Mail server, nurse Fiona Clark, who works in the ICU, even called the television ten minutes after the start of the program to express her concerns. She is convinced that Omar was showing signs of a stroke. She insisted the presenter was dysphasic, had a droopy left eye and slurred speech, symptoms of a stroke.

“Unfortunately, it’s something I’ve seen many times as a nurse. I am absolutely shocked at the lack of willingness to seek medical help. I told them that their moderator was not well, and they told me that they are aware of it,” wrote Clark on the X social network. Other X users were also upset why no one helped Omar, others expressed words of support and wished him a speedy recovery .

Omar managed to finish the whole show and thanked the viewers at the end of the broadcast. After that, there was another 20 seconds shot of the presenter while the subtitles ran on the screen.

ITV confirmed that the presenter was unwell, but did not provide further details. “We are aware of our viewers’ concerns regarding Rageh Omar’s health. Rage was taken ill while hosting Friday’s Ten News and is now receiving medical attention. We thank everyone for their wishes,” said an ITV spokeswoman on Friday evening.

However, as the Daily Mail points out, the television subsequently pulled the program and did not repeat it anymore, since Saturday morning the ITV X website no longer offers the program ITV News at Ten, which Omar hosted.
