The Regional Museum in Kladruby opened a new exhibition on the evening of Friday 26 April. The opening ceremony was opened by Jiří Kohout and the well-known drummer Yan Ropucho (Pavel Rybecký) played his drums. Unique paintings were brought from Prague by Martina Andělová and Petr V. Godothor.

Forty-seven-year-old author Martina Andělová has been painting pictures since childhood. “I’ve always enjoyed it, I use different techniques, I alternate oils, acrylics, and also line drawing. Watercolor, I also tried digital creation. Such a rather instructive topic, play on words,” explained the author.

Ten years older, Petr V. Godothor is a pioneer of bizarre surrealism and likes to work with unusual themes and stories. His paintings bring mystery, mysticism and pain and decadence. “I paint what I absorb with my body and eyes, what I perceive in general, and then combine it into a picture. For me, the various combined techniques of acrylic and oil painting on large-format canvases prevail. But I also like to try pencil, charcoal, pastel,” said Peter V. Godothor.

Martin Rybecký from Stříbr was also among the visitors. “I must say that I knew the paintings of Petr and Martinka only from photos. However, when I actually saw them live, my chin literally dropped. They are awesome! If you have a trip to Kladrub, be sure to stop by, because seeing the paintings live is on a completely different level than in the photos. Thanks for a great experience,” says Martin Rybecký.

The exhibition will remain in the Kladruby museum until June 16, 2024.
