Compositions inspired by the music of Jaroslav Ježek will be played, a real car will complete the props, and the popular actress Natálie Tichánková will also shine on the stage. We are talking about the musical ELA!, which was prepared by the Moravian Theater Olomouc in honor of the motorcyclist and native Eliška Junková. The theater is preparing the premiere for May 3.

Our musical captures not only Ela’s ride for laurels, but above all her journey through life. He sets off in the direction “into the depths of her soul.” The freedom to decide one’s destiny, to choose one’s own path, perhaps in spite of everything – that is one side of the coin. But how did she manage to hang a racing steering wheel “on a nail” without showing bitterness for the rest of her life? Leaving is an art and leaving beof bitterness, that takes wisdom. Eliška Junková’s journey along the racing tracks is a sure path to wisdom and a path to oneself. Ela in our musical must find out what her true self is. What drove her to be the best, to subdue men? When he finds out, he can even proudly quit and keep his freedom.” introduced the dramatist and former long-time dramaturg of the Liberec Theater Tomáš Syrovátka about the theme of the play he wrote directly for the Moravian Theatre.

30 years have passed since the death of the competitor in January this year. According to historical documents, Junková was supposed to live in the place of today’s house at Krapkov 18 in Olomouc. The musical is one of the first commemorations of the Olomouc native right in the city, the committee of the Olomouc-Západ district (KMČ 18) planned to create a commemorative plaque on Junková’s house, but this has not yet happened. KMČ 18 is still thinking about this, we are currently solving the design and form of the memorial plaque itself. We firmly believe that the implementation itself will take place this year,” was added for the Olomoucky Report in February by the current chairman of the commission, Milan Hebelka (jointly).

We are dealing with the memorial plaque directly with the city council, we are dealing with the city so that Eliška is remembered more. I think that many Olomouc residents don’t even know that she is a native of Olomouc, so for that reason alone we would be happy if the game had an impact.” David Gerneš, director of the Moravian Theater in Olomouc, told Report.
