Through the eyes of Sasha Mitrofanov: How is ANO objectively on the same page as the Kremlin?

--

The role of the head of state could include balancing. In my opinion, however, in such a case it should be convincing. Does the president’s rating meet this criteria? So is it unfair to say about Babiš that he is a supporter of Russian interests?

Note one. Petr Pavel recognizes that inciting anti-Ukraine sentiments is inappropriate, unfair and dangerous. And that Babiš does it. However, inciting anti-Ukrainian sentiments is at the same time, without any doubt, strengthening pro-Kremlin sentiments. Moscow annoys Ukraine in its format, Babiš repeats it according to his abilities. Two plus two equals four, five will only be possible for YES.

Note two. Thirty-three percent of Czechs said in survey GLOBSEC that he agrees with the following statement: “A totalitarian regime without free elections is good for our country.” One of the symptoms of a totalitarian regime is a political structure in which there is one leader at the top who makes decisions and the others obey his orders. It is a structure that applies in ANO. The president recently experienced this around pension reform negotiations. The number of lovers of totalitarianism in the Czech Republic generally coincides with the expected number of voters of Babiš’s structure.

Note Three (referring to Note Two). It is obvious that the mentioned political structure corresponds one hundred percent to the current architecture of the Russian regime. But not only at this very visible point. Both – leader Babiš and leader Putin – proclaim the supremacy of one nation. And further: Putin bet on big businesses. Babiš’s statement from 2013 reads: “SMEs are clichés and bullshit. We need to support a large industry that has a tradition here.”

There is another connection here. The more the state controls, the less it wants free people in the country, not to mention the media. Putin’s and Babiš’s opinion of journalists who do not listen to them is widely known.

Note four. Grandma requires the government’s publication of classified information relating to the Czech munitions initiative to help Ukraine. If published, it would save the Kremlin a lot of work and money on espionage. A politician who demands this is either a complete idiot or a Kremlin acolyte. Babiš doesn’t look like a complete idiot.

Conclusion. It is fair to say about Babiš that he is catering to Russian interests, because he is objectively on the same page as the Kremlin. It is not dangerous to say these facts. It would be dangerous to overlook them.
