“It’s a great event,” said festival visitor Martina Kudělková (32) from Olomouc, after she had been catching her breath for about twenty minutes after testing one of the hottest peppers. “I wanted to try it. It was good at first, I thought it was fine. But then came the start, and it was really hell.” she revealed.
According to the organizer of the event and the vice-champion of Europe in eating chili peppers, Daniel Všetečka (33), it is necessary to start slowly with these things. “It’s healthy, but I definitely don’t recommend anyone to start with the hottest products right away,” he smiled and revealed that the goal of the festival was not only to revive events in the sought-after recreational location, but mainly to introduce the public to a wide variety of chili peppers and their uses.
Ten brave ones
Nine men and one woman even took part in the tough competition. In each round, they were given hotter and hotter treats to eat, and the first round would put a normal person on their shoulders. They only had one slice of bread, water and beer available for eating. One by one they gradually fell away. The championship from last year was finally defended by Karel Hladík (39) from Vysočina.
