The series started on Saturday, May 4 shortly after ten o’clock in the evening. A police patrol stopped an Audi passenger car on Pelhřimovská Street in Jihlava. His 39-year-old driver initially breathed 2.53 per thousand, then even more during the repeated test.
“By checking the relevant systems, the police found out that he has a pronounced driving ban, based on a criminal order issued by the District Court in Jindřichov Hradec,” said police spokeswoman Dana Čírtková.
About an hour later, police officers checked a BMW car near the center of Jihlava. After the first breath of the 29-year-old driver, a value of 1.26 per thousand appeared on the device’s display, even in this case, a repeated test brought an even higher number. The police officers seized the man’s driver’s license and asked him to undergo a medical examination with a blood sample.
The series ended on Sunday, May 5, in the early afternoon of a traffic accident on the road between the town of Polná and the village of Věžnička. The Škoda Octavia ended up in a field overturned on its roof. His 65-year-old driver had over two per million of alcohol in his breath.
All three drivers are now facing suspicion of misdemeanor endangerment under the influence of an addictive substance.
