The Prague 11 district is returning to senior envelopes, which were very popular about four years ago.
The senior envelope is both for people who live alone or with someone and possibly take some medication or have a more serious health problem. They simply put a filled-in form in a plastic envelope, which contains all the information about them, including their name, health insurance company, medicines they are taking and diseases they are being treated for.
Although the project is called a senior envelope, it can also be useful for younger people, and if someone is worried that they might, for example, collapse and there is no one at home to call for help or provide important information, then the senior envelope has its function and plays an important role in such situations.
The senior envelope should be placed either on the refrigerator, attached with a magnet or on the inside of the apartment door. Compared to previous years, however, it was necessary to update and modify the senior envelope. But the senior must make sure that the information in the envelope is up-to-date – for example by inserting the last report from the doctor. Prague 11 plans to contact all general practitioners in its territory to help seniors fill out their envelopes. 55,000 crowns are earmarked for senior envelopes in the district budget.
