LOUNSKO – At the end of April, the police caught two drivers under the influence of alcohol.
The district police informed the suspicion of committing the crime of endangerment under the influence of an addictive substance to two rioters on the same day.
In the first case, on the last Saturday in April, around eight o’clock, the Žatec police noticed the driver of a Škoda Octavia factory vehicle, whose driving appeared to them to be under the influence of alcohol. That’s why they decided to stop and check him in Politických vězňů Street in Žatec, where the driver in question also submitted to a professional measurement for the presence of alcohol in his breath as part of a roadside inspection. The policemen’s assumption was confirmed when the device showed them a positive result with a value of over 2.5 per thousand. This was followed by the transfer of the arrested driver to the police station, where he received a summons to give an explanation. The following Monday, at the District Police Department in Žatec, he heard a report of suspicion of committing the crime of endangerment under the influence of an addictive substance. If the court finds the 46-year-old man from Žatec guilty, he faces up to one year in prison, a fine or a ban on activities.
In the second case, on the last Sunday in April, around 10:30 in the morning, the police officers of the Lun district set their sights on the driver of a Škoda Octavia. He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a roadside inspection in Husova Street in Černčice. For this reason, he was invited to undergo a professional measurement. As in the first case, this time too the device recorded alcohol in the breath, namely with a value slightly over 1.4 per thousand. The driver of this vehicle, who was under the influence of alcohol, was also taken into custody to the police station. There he received a summons to give an explanation. The following day, a 26-year-old man from Lounsko received a report of suspicion of committing the offense of endangerment under the influence of an addictive substance. For such behavior, the court can impose a prison sentence of up to one year, a fine or ban on activity.
