The thirty-six-year-old man climbed the wall of the Pilsen town hall on the night of Saturday to Sunday, up to the fastening structure of the bell located on the building. It couldn’t support the weight, the vandal fell down and damaged the flower pot below. He then had to be taken to hospital with suspected internal injuries.

The police officers met with incredible insolence shortly after midnight from Saturday to Sunday. On the screens of the city’s camera system, a group of three people appeared in front of the Pilsen town hall. “Two men and one woman seemed innocent, but only until one of the men literally started climbing the wall of the town hall,” said police spokeswoman Tereza Schliková.

According to the spokesperson, the 36-year-old man climbed onto a decorative flower pot and then hung himself several meters high on the fastening structure of the bell, which is located on the historic building. But it could not support his weight, it broke from the wall and the man fell down, overturning and damaging the flower pot below him. By that time, a patrol of constables was already on its way to the place, and caught the trio having a cheerful conversation in the next street. “Due to the man’s fall and possible internal injuries, the medical emergency service was called to the scene, as well as the state police, which took over the incident due to suspicion of a criminal act,” she added.
