An international gathering of pedal airplanes with the subtitle Fabulous flyers on non-flying machines will be held on Saturday, May 11, at the Aviation Museum in Kunovice.

“The event will be, as the name suggests, slightly recessive, but also informative and, above all, fun. It is mainly intended for families with children, but anyone can come and see it,” says the director of the museum, Martin Hrabec, adding that the meeting will take place on the grounds of the Slovak Aero Club from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Of course, the pedals will be in the center of the action. They will participate in speed and acrobatics races, and there will also be a competition for the most beautiful machine. According to the organizers, thirty airplanes will participate in the race, which, if everything goes well, will also be entered into the Czech record book.
Pilot license for small aircraft
Pedals will also be available for children. “Of course, we cannot deprive young pilots of this experience. The opportunity to ride them will be available, except for a few moments, for the duration of the entire event. Little aviators can also get a pilot’s license to fly. With it, one ride will cost 150 crowns, without it 100,” explains Martin Hrabec.

Each ride receipt will also have a special use. “Entrance to the event is voluntary, so everyone who pays for a ride on a pedal boat also contributes to making this and other similar events possible. As a thank you, we offer the possibility to use the receipts for the ride on the pedal boat at the same time as tickets to the museum,” adds Hrabec.
In addition to the pedals, people can also look forward to another accompanying program. For example, the Amazing Theater of Physics will enliven the event with its experiments. Various fun activities will also be part of it, including rides on mini-tatras or pedal cars and other self-propelled vehicles, and there will also be sightseeing flights.
