Two serious accidents in the South Bohemian Region occupied the IZS! A total of eight cars crashed and ten people were injured – JV Press

SOUTH ČESKY REGION – Components of the Integrated Rescue System of the Czech Republic, including air rescue helicopters, were occupied by two serious traffic accidents in the South Bohemian Region yesterday afternoon. Only two hours separated two serious accidents in the village of Rovná and in the village of Mláka – a total of 8 cars crashed and 10 people were injured.

At 4:34 p.m.: Firefighters received information about an accident on road I/4 near the village of Rovná. All components of the integrated rescue system went to the accident and the LZS helicopter also took off. It was a collision between 6 passenger cars, when a total of 5 people were injured.

Professional firefighters from the Strakonice and Písek stations had to use rescue equipment to get all the injured out of the crashed cars. The road was completely closed for the duration of the rescue and liquidation work. Rescuers who were called provided immediate care to 5 injured persons, two of whom remained wedged in the car. All the injured suffered mainly medium-severe injuries in the torso area and after treatment they were taken to the hospital in Písek and Strakonice. The elderly woman suffered a severe chest injury and after her condition stabilized, she was airlifted to a hospital in České Budějovice.

At 6:30 p.m.: then a professional unit of firefighters from the Třeboň station went to another serious accident that happened on the I/34 road near the village of Mláka. Two passenger cars collided here. Even Třeboň professionals had to cut two injured people out of the destroyed cars. One injured person was transported to the hospital by air, four by ambulance.

Police officers first closed the road completely, then directed traffic on the road using a shuttle. We had 5 people in our care. Four of them escaped apparently unharmed, but we took them to the Emergency Department of the hospital in Jindřichov Hradec for follow-up examinations. Fifth person wedged, unconscious. Among other things, she was connected to artificial lung ventilation and airlifted with a severe head injury to the ARO hospital in České Budějovice.
