After the stripper Edita beat cancer and divorced, she found her new path in singing. With a performance imitating the icon Lady Gaga, she received a job offer as far away as Mexico. There she resettled herself and her three teenage children, who spent the first month on an intensive Spanish course and then enrolled in local schools.

”After cancer and divorce, I wanted a change. And so we went to Mexico with the children, where I spent the most beautiful years of my life and I still remember it to this day. Even though it was difficult at the beginning with zero Spanish,” recalls Edita.

In the minds of mothers: Motherhood is beautiful, but bad days are part of it

Children

After some time, Edita returned to pole dancing again so that she would not have to get into too much debt and be able to buy a house for her family. Because of this, she started flying to Florida, where she later landed with the whole family. There she fell head over heels in love, got married, and subsequently unexpectedly became pregnant.

“Even though I had half of my female organs removed due to cancer, I miraculously got pregnant at 39, even though I was on birth control and protected. I decided to keep my son,” says Edita, adding that she flew to the Czech Republic to give birth not only for financial reasons, which turned out to be a wise move, after the son was already born in the 29th week of pregnancy.

Disputes and lawsuits

However, Edita’s new relationship did not last very long. With her now ex-husband, who even threatened her with a gun in one incident, she sued for custody of her youngest son. Unfortunately, she lost the dispute and now sees her son very sporadically. And so Edita decided to write a book so that one day her son would have somewhere to look for answers.

Although Edita prepares her children from an early age on how to face bullying and talks openly with them about her profession, she does not encounter much prejudice in America (except in the courtroom).

“My children were always prepared for a possible confrontation from classmates or teachers, but it never happened. People don’t really care here. There are a huge number of strippers here. And my kids weren’t the only ones in schools. It would probably be a taboo subject here, in the US it is very open and people treat us politely,” he explains.

Today, Edita already has three adult children who speak three languages. Together, they will save for the construction of their own property in the Czech Republic, where they want to return for many reasons. What are the reasons? Where was the youngest member of the family? And how about health care and courts in Florida?
