A gang of migrants is spreading fear in a German city. The leader is twelve, the youngest is nine

--

“We are dealing with a group of 23 children and young people between the ages of nine and 17 who are hanging around the city center,” police spokesman Thorsten Ohm admitted to the Bild newspaper.

According to the witnesses, the youths are harassing their classmates and threatening them. However, the list of their offenses is longer: fights, stalking, extortion using film footage, humiliation, damage to property, disturbing the peace and trespassing on someone else’s property.

There were even suspicions that the group was responsible for burglaries and drug dealing. Police spokesman Ohm is clear: “We will not tolerate this situation. The victims have contacted us and an investigation is underway.”

They know that the law is short on them

The police were able to assign 50 criminal offenses to the 12-year-old, whom investigators consider to be the leader of the gang. “The charges in his case range from grievous bodily harm to insults and threats,” Ohm said.

Offenders are well aware of the fact that the law is short on them. “I see it in my daily work in schools. Juvenile offenders know that they will not be punished. That’s why they don’t stop,” explained Carsten Stahl (51), a psychologist dealing with bullying.

The gang attacked the 13-year-old son of paramedic Mike Jugel (48) several times. “Once they challenged him to a duel. Another time they surrounded him. They forced him to kneel before the leader and apologize to him for no reason. At the same time, they filmed him on video. We filed a complaint and met with other parents of the victims. This has to stop,” he says indignantly.

“Then they ambushed him again. Again, there were several, of course. They spat on him, hit him in the back of the head, kicked him in the back,” added the boy’s mother Bianca Jugelová (41) on Westdeutscher Rundfunk television.

“One of our older customers was called a Nazi bitch. They spat around each other and threw trash cans,” says Antonia H. (26) from a bakery in the heart of the city.

Pensioner Theo S. (75 years old) is also afraid when he sees a noisy, self-confident and aggressive group of young people in the city center: “I stay out of their way when I have to, I cross the street. I’m scared,” they don’t hide.

Mayoress: It’s not that bad

Phobe U. (15) and her classmates saw about 15 teenagers beating a boy in the castle park. “We intervened, and they then cursed us like a bitch. When I called other friends for help, they ran away,” she recounts.

The police are in contact with the city, the youth welfare office and the schools. Nevertheless, mayor Karola Vosseová (61) does not see the situation in any dramatic way.

“It’s not that bad from my point of view,” she told Bild. “But of course we still take it seriously. The police have an increased presence in certain places where young people tend to hang out. We are also negotiating with schools and considering how to solve the situation,” she added.
