The American technology giant Apple on Tuesday presented new versions of its iPad Air and iPad Pro computer tablets as well as a new high-performance M4 processor. The company is coming up with new versions of iPad tablets for the first time since October 2022, CNBC writes.
The new iPad Pro, which is Apple’s most expensive and most advanced tablet, will be sold in two sizes, 11 inches (roughly 28 centimeters) and 13 inches (roughly 33 centimeters). It will use the new M4 processor. The price of the smaller version of the new iPad Pro tablet starts at CZK 29,990.
The company will offer the new iPad Air in the same sizes as the iPad Pro. The iPad Air device will use the M2 processor and the price of its smaller version will start at CZK 17,990.
Apple was number one in the world tablet market in the first quarter, according to IDC. However, its sales decreased by 8.5 percent year-on-year to 9.9 million devices. The company’s market share thus fell to 32 percent from more than 35 percent a year ago. Second place was taken by the South Korean company Samsung, followed by the Chinese company Huawei.
Worldwide sales of computer tablets increased by half a percent year-on-year to 30.8 million devices in the first quarter of this year, according to data from the research company International Data Corporation (IDC). It thus recorded the first increase in almost three years.
The new models will go on sale on May 15, and interested parties can order them now.
