The pilot of the plane, which was heading to Turkey from Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, informed the control tower at the airport in Istanbul before landing that he was unable to extend the nose gear.

The airport alerted the emergency services and guided the pilot to the runway, where firefighters and rescuers were already ready. The pilot managed not to go off the landing area during the non-standard landing. After contact with the runway, of course, large sparks started flying and smoke also appeared, but the firemen very quickly applied foam to prevent a tragedy.

Problems galore

This is not even remotely the first lapalia for Boeing in recent times. At the end of April, the emergency chute of a Delta Airlines 767-300 aircraft collapsed in the air shortly after takeoff from New York.

In March, a Boeing 777 lost a wheel after takeoff, which damaged several cars when it hit the ground. A few weeks ago, a Boeing 737-800 had to turn back shortly after takeoff when a piece of the engine fairing came loose. And in January, part of the fuselage and window of the brand new Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 came loose while the machine was at an altitude of five thousand meters.
