It is the first time that the North Atlantic Alliance has marked, albeit in a confidential and non-public mode, certain red lines, the crossing of which could mean the deployment of alliance troops in Ukraine. Citing anonymous sources, the Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported about it.
The letter, citing anonymous sources, specifically mentions two red lines. The first would be the intervention of a third party in the war. The most likely scenario would be the involvement of Belarus.
In the event of a breach of the Northwestern Front, a corridor could be opened precisely between Ukraine and Belarus, and the Alliance does not want the country led by Alexander Lukashenko to take advantage of this. According to NATO, the border between Russia and Ukraine is too long and vulnerable.

The second red line would then be a military provocation against the Baltics and Poland, or even a targeted attack on Moldova.
In the text, the paper points out several times that within NATO it is still preventive rhetoric, the main goal of which is to deter Russia. However, the conditions for the fulfillment of the North Atlantic idea of the necessity of intervention in Ukraine are not unrealistic.
French President Emmanuel Macron, for example, spoke openly several times about the possibility of sending Western soldiers to Ukraine.
