In recent days, West Ham have had matches against rivals from nearby places in the table. They lost a two-goal lead at Newcastle on Saturday and responded to the disappointment of a bitter defeat by drawing with their city rivals. The guests had a successful start, Brennan Johnson opened the score in the 5th minute, Zouma equalized for the home team less than a quarter of an hour later. Souček and Coufal started in the starting line-up, coach Moyes did not replace him even once in the prestigious game. Both opponents had other chances, but none of the rivals could decide.

Newcastle played in the Champions League group stage in the autumn, now they have lost in the fight for promotion to the European Cups. Swedish gunner Isak opened the score of the duel with Everton in the 15th minute with his fifteenth goal in the league season.

Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin celebrates scoring against Newcastle.

He is thus only three goals behind the best scorer of the competition, Haaland. The visitors equalized from the penalty spot two minutes before the end and are only four points above the relegation zone. They were within one point of Nottingham, who beat Fulham 3:1 before the break thanks to three goals.

The players of second-to-last Burnley are still hoping for a rescue. They drew 1:1 at home with Wolverhampton and scored for the fourth time in a row. Bournemouth owe Kluivert’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace a move to 11th and a third straight win.
