More departures from Energia. Finish both Finns

Karlovy Vary continues to rebuild the squad for next season. The West Bohemian team previously announced ten departures, but this number is not final. Forward Iikka Kangasniemi and defender Joona Huttula are also not continuing.

“Joona had his second season in Karlovy Vary better than his first. He played his part, but we would like to replace him with a defender of a different profile, much more active in terms of points,” explains Daniel Tobolka, the club’s executive.

” href=”https://www.hokej.cz/hrac/iikka-kangasniemi/33911″>Kangasniemi? He scored 21 points (4+17) in 43 games of the regular season. He was more productive in previous seasons in the top Finnish league.

“Iikka is a specific player, but unfortunately for a reinforcement from abroad, his goal productivity was not what we expected from her,” adds Tobolka.

Karlovy Vary is thus continuing its major reconstruction. In total, twelve players have already finished. So far, seven new reinforcements have arrived.

“The team has been together for a long time and has not been able to cross its shadow. Change was inevitable if we want to move the team forward. Many players’ contracts were coming to an end and rebuilding was offered,” says the Energie executive.

“When building the team for the new season, we mainly focused on younger players and also boys with a relationship to the club and the region, our foster children. Our goal is also to supplement the team primarily with players who make a difference.”

There was also one new change in the implementation team – fitness coach Martin Iterský was replaced by Martin Pospíchal.
