Ondřej Kovařčík is coming from Jukurit, promising fullback Daniel Bukač is coming from Znojmo, and Jakub Valský has extended his contract at Motor.

Ondřej Kovařčík signed a contract for three seasons and should become a basic building block of the České Budějovice lineup. He collected 41 points in 57 games in the Finnish top flight.

“Ondra is a great player who won three titles with Třinec and also played excellently in the Finnish top flight. Everyone knows his quality, that’s why I’m very happy that he chose Motor and the vision we’re trying to fulfill here for the next part of his career,” described sports manager Jiří Novotný.

The defense will be strengthened by the huge former youth representative Daniel Bukač, coming after the season from the first league Znojmo through a one-year contract with an option. Chomutova’s progeny was drafted by Boston in 2017, last year he played for Pardubice B and Znojmo.

“Mikuláš Hovorka is leaving us for the NHL and we believe that this time too we have found a player with great potential in the second highest competition. He is also a tall right-handed player at a good age, and we believe that he can take another significant step in his career with us,” explained manager Novotný.

Jakub Valský, who has played in Budějovice for the past three seasons, also signed the same contract as Bukač. He scored 14 goals in the last one. “Jakub won another contract with his performances. He is a player who can be used in many situations, has enormous experience and can help us improve our young players as well,” added Jiří Novotný, his view of the 35-year-old winger.
