The end of secrets, defender Roman Josi will really strengthen the Swiss national team at the World Cup in Prague. He will join the team on Thursday, so he will be in time for Friday’s match against Norway.

The Swiss national team celebrates. In a demanding group, in which, among others, they face the defenders of the gold Canada, the home country Czech Republic and the always unpleasant Finland, the X factor gains.

Roman Josi is a hockey player who will completely change the face of his team. He will be the biggest star of this year’s World Cup.

The former Norris Trophy winner will arrive in Prague in top form: with 85 points (23+62), he was the third most productive defender in the regular season. He deservedly (together with Quinn Hughes and Cal Makar) made it to the final three for the award for the best defenseman in the NHL.

The Nashville captain will be competing in his ninth world championship, having won two silver medals with Switzerland so far. This year too, the country of the Helvetic Cross will be thinking about a medal, in addition to Josi, there are also other NHL personalities Nico Hischier, Nino Niederreiter and Jonas Siegenthaler to help with this.

“I am extremely happy for Switzerland: we are getting a leader and invaluable team support.”

“Because of Roman, the elimination of his Nashville from the playoffs obviously hurt me,” said head coach Patrick Fischer. “On the other hand, I am extremely happy for Switzerland: we are getting a leader and an invaluable team support.”
