Real Madrid – Bayern 2-1, Incredible battle for Real, Bayern lost the Champions League final in the last minutes

--

Real was a bit more active throughout the match, but they threw away chances. Vinícius Júnior hit the post in the 13th minute, Rodrygo fired the ball into the goalkeeper Manuel Neuer from the subsequent stop.

The German goalkeeper kept Bayern even after an hour of play, when in short succession he eliminated a cannon after a direct free kick by Rodrygo and then another sharp attempt by Vinícius. Bayern were even happier in the 68th minute. Alphonso Davies got the ball to the side, guided it into the penalty area and with a precise cross shot past goalkeeper Andrije Lunin.

The German team then defended itself, after the season ending coach Thomas Tuchel withdrew the tired main offensive supports. Federico Valverde’s goal in the 71st minute was disallowed as Nacho had earlier brought down Joshua Kimmich.

But in the end, Bayern did not last. Real coach Carlo Ancelotti pulled out a super joker, Joselu came on the pitch in the 81st minute.

He struck for the first time in seven minutes. Neuer made a mistake, the ball fell out after Vinícius’ shot, and Joselu quickly put it into the net. The Spanish team did not want to go to extra time and continued to attack. Joselu capitalized on Antonio Rüdiger’s cross as time ticked down from normal time into regulation time. The referee initially signaled for offside, but VAR revealed that everything was fine and the goal stood.

Joselu is happy about the goal.

It was supposed to take nine minutes to set up, but it ended up being fifteen. Bayern went for a chance in the thirteenth minute of extra time, but the assistant referee waved offside and head referee Szymon Marciniak blew the whistle for offside. The guests were very angry, but they could not change anything about the final result of 2:1 for Real.

“It’s no coincidence that we manage to rotate so many matches. The great fans also helped us today,” Real midfielder Jude Bellingham told TNT television. “I dreamed of this evening as a seven-year-old boy in Birmingham. The final at Wembley, and against Dortmund, I can’t believe it at all,” added the English offensive footballer and former Borussia player.
