The ceremonial welcome of the fire, which was brought from Athens by the historic sailing ship Belem, was attended by a number of personalities from the fields of sport, culture and politics. “We can be proud. The flame is on French soil, the Olympic Games are coming to France and entering the lives of many French people,” said President Emmanuel Macron at the ceremony. The president of the organizing committee of this year’s Olympic Games, Tony Estanguet, then said that the return of the Olympics to France is a reason for a “fantastic celebration”.

And the welcoming of the Olympic torch was truly spectacular. It also included a traditional flyover of fighter jets, which created the French tricolor (blue, white, red) in the sky with the help of smoke cannons. However, footage appeared on the Internet, according to which the French once again made a mistake and arranged the fighters in a formation in such a way that the resulting tricolor was Russian (white, blue, red).

However, it was only an optical illusion given the point of view from where the shots were taken. In fact, everything went perfectly smoothly and the torch was received on French soil with all dignity.

And she immediately set out on her way to Paris. The swimmer Florent Manaudou was the first to carry it, who handed it to Paralympian Nantenin Keita, and the third section was provided by the rapper Jul. The torch will reach its destination on July 26, when the Olympic flame will be lit at the opening ceremony of the Games.
