Sparta’s defensive ranks will be strengthened by the experienced Dominik Graňák, who has agreed with the management there for the time being on a monthly allowance. The club announced the arrival of the Slovak defender on its website.

“Dominik Graňák is currently coming to help for a month. We believe that he has a lot to give the team with his experience and game overview. He will definitely fit into the team without any problems,” reveals the club’s sports manager Jaroslav Hlinka to the 39-year-old hockey player.

With his arrival, Sparta reacts to the malaise in the back ranks. “Kuba Krejčík will only be available at the start of the extra-league season, and Michael Krutil unfortunately suffered a muscle injury during training in Bratislava,” sports director Petr Ton calculates.

“The whole arrangement went very quickly,” reports Dominik Graňák, for whom Sparta is already the fifth extra-league club. He has already played 588 matches among the domestic elite with a balance of 20+103. He worked successively in Slavia, Hradec Králové, Karlovy Vary and most recently in Pilsen.

“I’m happy to be here, either for a few weeks or longer if they’re happy with me.”

In the past, he also played for years in Russia, Sweden and briefly in Switzerland. Now he will help Sparta, for whom he should start already in Friday’s CHL game against Aalborg. “I’m happy to be here, either for a few weeks or longer if they’re happy with me.”

As he says himself, he knows a number of players in the Spartan cabin. “For the longest time, I played with Milan Jurčin and Vláď Sobotek, with Patrik Martinec at Slavia. I also know the Thorell brothers from my time in Sweden. That’s why I’m really looking forward to my first match,” concludes Graňák.
