Last week at AMD’s presentation in China, a slide appeared mentioning the Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F processors. There is a consensus that it will be models built on the basis of APU Phoenix, which will have integrated graphics disabled. The form of the Ryzen 7 8700F is more or less clear with regard to the existence of the 8700G model (the same parameters can be expected, only inactive GPU), the parameters of the Ryzen 5 8400F are still a matter of speculation, since the graphics equivalent is not known.

The same presentation, however, mentioned one more novelty that has not been talked about yet, namely the Ryzen 5000 XT. AMD released the XT series for the last time within the Ryzen 3000 generation, i.e. with cores Zen 2. Back then, the “T” meant an extra 100 MHz boost. So it cannot be ruled out that now, roughly 3.5 years after the start of serial production of the chiplet version Zen 3the manufacturing process and firmware are tuned enough that AMD could afford to increase the maximum clock frequency without a negative impact on yield.

Recall that the fastest processor of this series was released with a clock of 4.9 GHz (Ryzen 9 5950X), and one of the company’s employees later revealed that they could set it to 5 GHz even then. However, they did not want a media presentation Zen 3 built on the clock frequency, as they considered the increase in IPC to be more fundamental at the time.

Which models will be released within the Ryzen 5000 XT series, when, where and in which segment they will be available, but it is not yet known.
