Last November, the Vivo brand introduced a new line of flagship smartphones consisting of two models – Vivo X100 and X100 Pro. While the first-named did not reach the borders of China, the Pro variant is also sold on the Czech and Slovak markets. The Chinese manufacturer plans to expand this family with two new models called Vivo X100s and Vivo X100 Ultra. Their premiere will take place already this month, so it’s time to collect official trailers and leaked images and lists of specifications on the Internet.

Vivo X100 Ultra: with a 200Mpx telephoto lens

Vivo will put the X100 Ultra model on an imaginary pedestal, which will bring several improvements compared to the X100 Pro model. The basic design feature in the form of a huge circular photo module on the back will remain, but according to the available images, Vivo will flatten the sides and probably the display as well.

The cameras in the circular island on the back will be rearranged and probably also partially modified. They should cover focal lengths of 14-230mm, while the periscope telephoto lens is said to boast a 200-megapixel resolution and up to 100x (digital) zoom capability, all at f/2.67 aperture. This is how the images taken by Vivo at the launch of the Chinese lunar probe Chang’e 6 should look like.

The telephoto lens is also supposed to be able to capture the light of the stars in the night sky, Vivo is also tempting to take impressive images of sunsets and sunrises without glare and reflections. The camera lenses of the Vivo X100 Ultra smartphone will be covered by a special T* coating from Zeiss, which will also take care of the tuning of all cameras. The powerful image processor contained in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset will also ensure high-quality images – it is supposed to power the Vivo X100 Ultra.

Vivo X100s: for the first time with MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Plus

The second upcoming smartphone is supposed to fulfill the role of a slightly lighter flagship. Under the hood, Vivo will deploy a yet-to-be-presented MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset, which, compared to the standard Dimensity 9300, should receive a strengthened AI unit, but a slightly worse processor part, which should have the following configuration:

• 1 x main core clocked at 3.4 GHz
• 3 x 2.85 GHz mid-core
• 4 x efficient core clocked at 2.0 GHz.

The processor will then be complemented by Mali-G720-Immortalis MC12 graphics.

And what will the phone itself be like? According to the images, it should look similar to the X100 Ultra, only the four cameras in the module should be rotated by a quarter of a circle. The assembly should cover focal lengths between 15-70mm, the main camera should boast a resolution of 50 megapixels and an aperture of f/1.6. In this case too, Vivo published one sample image, which was then edited several times by artificial intelligence.

Vivo X100 Ultra and X100s will be launched on May 13.
