MNUFC2 returns to US Open Cup play for a Second Round matchup against the Michigan Stars following their dominant 3-0 win over Chicago House AC. In round one, the Loons took control of the scoreboard in the 52nd minute with a goal from Jordan Adebayo-Smith. Adebayo-Smith made quick work of scoring his second of the night, finding the back of the net only three minutes later. Adebayo-Smith then posed an important question: Why only score two goals in your 100th professional match when you can score three? He marked the occasion with a hat trick in the end, scoring his third goal in extra time to give the Loons an extra boost of confidence in the final seconds of the game. In league play, the Twos have yet to secure a win but have put up good performances and shown their tenacity. For their upcoming match in the historic tournament that is the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, the Loons will be playing on a historic field, Allianz Field.
