The NIT may not get all the glamor that the NCAA Tournament does, but there is still a lot of pride that comes with an NIT championship. The second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader will feature the Georgia Bulldogs taking on the Seton Hall Pirates.

Georgia has been on an incredible streak since the end of the SEC Tournament. On the road to the school’s third-ever NIT semifinals, Georgia even managed to take down heavy favorite Ohio State 79-77. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, many are considering this deep run in the tournament luck since they’ve won three games now by a combined 10 points. Still, March is known for its big moments and the Bulldogs keep coming up clutch when it counts most.

The Pirates, meanwhile, have been red hot, shooting nearly 50 percent from the field and over 40 percent from three-point territory. Their offense is averaging nearly 80 points a game as well. Georgia may be in over their heads thinking they can take down this Seton Hall team. That said, Seton Hall will be playing its first non-home game of the NIT on Tuesday, so perhaps they won’t be in the right headspace to take down Georgia.

Predictions for Georgia vs. Seton Hall

Action Network: Seton Hall (-4.5)

Matt Gannon writes, “The Pirates will capitalize on every mistake and be first to every loose ball. I do expect this game to be close, but the edge is with the Pirates. They’ll have the best player on the floor and have more motivation.”

Vegas Insider: Georgia (+4.5)

Kevin Rogers writes, “The Bulldogs have done damage away from Athens in this tournament, while Seton Hall is leaving the New York-New Jersey area for the first time in nearly a month.”

WALB: Seton Hall 74, Georgia 73

WALB points out that Georgia needs to take better care of the ball if they want a chance to defeat Seton Hall. Although Georgia is arguably the hotter team, the Pirates are capable of taking advantage of each one of the Bulldogs’ mistakes. With all that said, the Pirates, even though they are not playing their best, should emerge victorious.
