HRADECKO – The accident caused a traffic collapse.
Yesterday 2.4. at 3 p.m., an accident involving a Nissan passenger vehicle and a Honda motorcycle occurred at the intersection of Střelecká and Gočárova třída streets.
The accident probably occurred when the driver of a car driving along Strělecká street from Lipek drove into the intersection on a red light, where he collided with a motorcyclist who was turning on a green signal from the opposite direction to Ulrichovo náměstí. The 16-year-old motorcyclist suffered an unspecified injury, with which he was taken to the hospital by an ambulance. No one else was injured. The police subjected the 76-year-old driver of the Nissan to a breath test with a negative result. A breath test could not be performed on the motorcyclist due to an injury, so a blood sample was ordered.
The police estimated the damage to the car at 250,000 and the motorcycle at 50,000.
The exact cause of the accident is the subject of further investigation by the Hradec Králové police.
Due to the accident, traffic at the intersection was restricted and queues formed throughout the city center. Traffic could be fully restored after an hour.
