The Steelers had to do without the services of the second most productive player of the regular season, Martin Růžička, in the final series. The 38-year-old matador was only listed as the 13th striker during the duels on the Trínice ice and played only two minutes due to the shoulder problems he has been dealing with since the semi-final with Sparta. Even his return to the second formation with Nestrašil and Voženílek did not help the guests, Růžička has been waiting for a goal for twenty games.
Třinec first survived the initial signs from Pardubice and threatened for the first time in the 8th minute. Vladimír Dravecký pounced on Polášek’s pass between the home defenders and drove alone at Will, but his backhand shot was blocked by the Dynamo goalkeeper.
Vondráček threw the puck through the Plexiglas and offered Třinec the first power play and the Steelers could take the lead. Tutovka was owned by Andrej Nestrašil, who hit the puck on the right circle after Růžička’s shot. However, Roman Will moved quickly and robbed the guests of a goal with an incredible save. He hid the puck in the catcher.
It was played very carefully and disciplined, but in the 30th minute, Tomáš Zohorna managed to catch the thrown puck in the attacking zone and made sure that the whistle was not given for a prohibited clearance. He then found a free Lukáš Radil in front of the goal, who fired past Kacetl.
Just 95 seconds later, Dynamo was leading 2:0. Tomáš Hyka also worked brilliantly behind the goal and sent a great pass to Lukáš Sedlák in front of it. The Pardubice captain headed exactly under the top bar and cheered up the packed stands for the second time.
In the 35th minute it was already 3:0. Martin Kaut fired an elusive shot under the crossbar from the penalty spot. That was too much even for Třinec goalkeeper Kacetl, who for the first time since the first duel of the semi-finals gave way to Marko Mazanc.
The steel players still tried to dramatize the duel, but it was difficult for them to get chances. Adam Helewka had a chance in the 48th minute after Růžiček’s pass, but his shot from the circle was again neutralized by the attentive Will.
The guests could no longer resist. Pardubice calmly maintained their lead and are celebrating the victory, with which they take the lead in the series 3:2 for the matches. The win was decided by two goals by Lukášů Radil and Sedlák in 95 seconds of the second period, in addition to Will’s great saves.
