Brazilian social media star Tatielle Scarlat Ferreira succumbed to pneumonia on Sunday. At the same time, the 28-year-old mother of three small children shared a video just a few days before her death, in which she claimed that doctors had diagnosed her with dengue fever. The influencer’s husband is now demanding an investigation into her death. The authorities have already started an investigation, reports the Brazilian website G1.

Ferreira fell ill on April 16 when she started complaining of vomiting, pain and diarrhea. She therefore visited the emergency room of Padre Roberto Cordeiro Martins in the local city of Divinópolis, where she received medication and was discharged home. The following day, she uploaded a video to Instagram in which she was supposed to comment on her diagnosis of dengue fever, among other things. Her husband, Jeremias de Jesus, later told the local G1 website that she was diagnosed with the disease without being tested for it.

Ferreira returned to the hospital again on Saturday morning, complaining of breathing problems and doctors diagnosed her with pneumonia. However, they only gave her a prescription for antibiotics and released her. However, her condition deteriorated rapidly during the day, and in the evening she had to be taken by ambulance to São João de Deus Hospital. She succumbed to the disease on Sunday morning.

“Everything could have been different if the doctors in the emergency room had properly examined her. They sent her home without testing her. “Nothing can bring my wife back, but I want her death to be investigated and what happened to me not to happen to others,” the Daily Mail quoted husband de Jesus as saying.

Ferreira’s family released a statement blaming the health system of the city of Divinópolis for her death. “Unfortunately, she died due to the neglect of public health in Divinópolis and the lack of care of some professionals,” informs G1.

City officials said they were investigating the Padre Roberto Cordeiro Martins emergency room, which is run by the Brazilian Institute of Public Policy Ibrapp. “The purpose of the review is to investigate the possible occurrence of medical malpractice in patient care. The investigation will be carried out by independent medical professionals,” quotes G1’s statement.

With over 74k followers on Instagram, Ferreira was known on social media for her good humor and a good dose of sass. She became famous mainly for her weight loss posts and for sharing her daily life with her three young children.
