The plot revolves around Královna (Kateřina Winterová), a quirky homeless woman known for her strange poems. However, fate does not favor her – one fateful day she is found seriously injured and dies despite all the efforts of the rescuers. Captain Kovář, who noticed her just before her death, embarks on an investigation. The woman entrusted him with a poem and mentioned her son. It soon becomes clear that someone else’s fault is behind her death. The hunt for the killer is on!
Alexej Pyško as a former lawyer who ended up homeless
The clues lead the criminalists among the local homeless, where they encounter a former successful lawyer played by Alexej Pyšek. The former barrister was said to be the last person the Queen spoke to. Their conversation was considered by those around them to be a dispute over stolen returnable bottles. Actor Alexej Pyško praised the role: “The story of this episode of The Specialists caught my attention because it is also a little soft and tender. And in addition, he is from an environment that we may not know that well and often condemn him a lot. But also thanks to my character, I discovered that even this world is not as black and white as we may think.
Kateřina Winterová in a double role
The search also leads the investigator to the murdered sister – her twin Lydia (also played by Kateřina Winterová). Lydia admits that she has not seen her sister for fifteen years and that she now lives with her late sister’s husband, with whom she is raising her son. She also tells investigators that her sister suffered from depression after giving birth and even tried to jump out of a window with her then-month-old son. Fifteen years ago, she escaped from the hospital where she was receiving treatment, and since then, the world has fallen for her. Her husband, Roman, hired private detectives to track her down, but all their efforts were in vain. Finally, she was officially declared dead a year ago.
Kateřina Winterová described her dual role: “I play two sisters, twins. They came from the same circumstances, but each ended up a little differently in life. But I don’t want to reveal the reasons because it’s part of the plot. It’s a very interesting experience for me because I’ve never played a double role before, and sisters who are exactly the same. But on the other hand, also completely different.’
The woman from the cafe
The story also features a cafe owner who organizes various charity events aimed at helping the homeless. At first glance, she seems like a generous person trying to improve the lives of the homeless. However, beneath her seemingly kind shell hides a completely different personality. The investigators gradually reveal that her real relationship with the socially disadvantaged is not as welcoming as she publicly shows.
Filming full of emotions and fun
Kateřina Winterová admitted that filming was difficult but fun. She simply could not refuse the role, if only for the reason that it is her premiere in terms of a double role. It was very challenging to alternate emotions and play the scene where the two twins – Lydia and Emilia – meet face to face.
