A woman died on the railway line between Olomouc and Přerov on Tuesday after a collision with a train. According to Olomouc police spokeswoman Ivana Skoupilová, the tragic accident happened in the Olomouc district of Holice. According to Lucie Mikisková, a spokeswoman for the rescue service, it was a middle-aged woman who was crossing the track at the fateful moment. According to information from České drah, traffic between Olomouc main station and Grygov is interrupted.

According to the spokesman of the Railway Inspectorate, Martin Drápal, the accident happened at 09:13 at a crossing protected by light signaling and barriers. “There was a collision between an express train traveling from Olomouc to Brno and a person,” said Drápal. According to the police, the exact causes and circumstances of the accident are being investigated.

According to the preliminary information of Czech Railways, the restriction on the line between Olomouc and Přerov is expected until 11:15. The service between the Olomouc main railway station and Grygov is now interrupted and a shuttle replacement bus service is introduced. Buses stop in Táborská street in Olomouc.

Passengers from train R 812 Moravan, which collided with the woman, are evacuated by the fire department to a replacement train set according to the tracks. They will then be transported from the scene of the accident to the Grygov station.
